T-Shirt Illustration for Pearhaus Coffee’s new merchandise. They wanted a design which was a play on the name of their signature blend ‘Birdhaus’ which included a tree, bird and portafilter. With this in mind I started sketching a whole set of different ideas using ProCreate on the iPad. I kept the style very light and playful to reflect the brand identity we had already established. This project was a good opportunity to introduce some new typography into their brand which complimented their main logo but had it’s own style which suited the final illustration.

The clients already knew they wanted a bird, hand, tree and something to represent coffee included in the illustration. Usually when I start to draw this kind of work I start by drawing individual elements (say the tree) in different forms using basic shapes. Then I start to look at how other elements could be introduced alongside the the first illustration and go from there, this creates connections between the objects and eventually leads to an outcome.
