Project Process

Here’s a quick walk through of the process from initial chat to final results. Every project is of course unique so this is not set to stone but a good overview of what to expect.

Each of the points below is clickable.

If you would like more information don’t hesitate to get in touch on the contact page.

  • The first step is gathering plenty of info about a potential client, their business and why they are looking to work with a designer/illustrator.

First off it’s handy to jump on a call if you feel comfortable doing so. This gives us a chance to get to know each other a little, for you to provide some more deatil about your business and the project. I can also explain more about how the process works and chat through my work.

Once we are off the phone I’ll send over an online questionnaire for you to fill out. It asks about your target audience, products/services, the history of the business, deliverables, future goals, brands you look up to etc. All of this good stuff helps me to put together a project proposal and create work which is completely tailored to your brand.

  • Using all the information I have gathered I’ll put together a project proposal. This is a PDF which will outline everything you need to know about the project. For example the goals for the project, the exact deliverables, the creative considerations and the quote. If the fit feels good and everyone involved is happy we will move forward to the fun bit…the creation stage!

At this point if you have any questions/concerns about the Project Proposal don’t hesitate to get back in touch.

  • Where I put pen to paper (or Apple pencil to iPad) and use all the information gathered to create the first round of sketches/designs for your project. I like to take some time here to carry out experimentation and hone in on concepts. Usually a couple of options will be created and sent over for you to look at in PDF format.

This will all be specified in the project proposal so you know what to expect.

  • Once you have seen the initial work we discuss the ideas/designs so far, this will help us to decide on a direction to move forward with and what changes need to be made to the work.

The amendment stages will lead us up to final sign-off of the work and delivery of the final pieces via WeTransfer (or another digital platform).
