I worked with Sam Sherwood who founded Coffee Shop Photographer to create a logo that combined his love of coffee and photography in a visual way. The core logo was then developed to become a set of extended logos to be used on social media as highlight icons.

It was essential that the style of the system would appeal to his target customer, audience on social media and fit with the direction Sam wanted to grow the brand in - so it could be used into the future (i.e on coffee bags etc).

My aim was to create something interesting and personable which somehow combined imagery relating to cameras and coffee in a playful style.

The brands customers are for the most part coffee shops so it was essential to create something which appealed to and grabbed the attention of coffee shop owners/employees. The wider audience on Instagram included people who are nuts about coffee and into photography, appealing to this group of people helps to grow an online audience and exposure which in turn nurtures the growth of the business.

In the system, the illustrated elements in the centre of the design meant we could customise the logo to be used in other ways as the company and brand grows and eventually starts to need packaging, more social media graphics, stickers etc.
